I was very lucky to have John DeCosta invite me to his networking event, "Breakfast with John." John has made relationships with a long list of business men and women working throughout the Pacific Northwest and periodically has these breakfast meetings. I was surprised by John, because I didn't know I would be speaking to the whole group. He gave me the floor to tell about myself and my upcoming fundraising tournament.
Our guest speaker for the event was Dan Breene of "Building Champions." His service is helping his clients achieve their business objectives. He made some very interesting points. I was really fond of the idea about limiting your list of goals to what's most important and sticking to the tasks that will allow you to accomplish them. Too many times I will put to much on my plate. Then, because I have so much I'm trying to do at once, I find myself doing all of them so-so. That is something that I can apply today.
As the event came to a close, I was able to meet a number of the people attending and learn a bit about them. Some of them even committed to playing in my tournament! I had a great time there and it was a morning well spent.
